Welcome to Butterflies
Butterflies is a multi-disciplinary centre established by doctors trained in the United Kingdom for children with different abilities up to18 years of age.
It was a realisation of Dr Pranathi Gutta and Dr Nanda Kishor’s vision for a multidisciplinary assessment centre to enable rehabilitation services under one roof, with international standards. We are advocates for intense early interventional strategies for neuro-developmental difficulties in children.
Our Team
Paediatric Neurologist
Will undertake an expert assessment, including in depth case history, medical evaluation and try to find underlying cause of any difficulties. Offers advice about further tests and therapies, if needed.
Child Psychiatry
Specially trained in the assessment and diagnosis of a number of conditions like ADHD, Autism Spectrum disorder, behavioural difficulties, feeding difficulties etc and contribute in their management.
Paediatrician
We believe that a child with a disability is first and foremost a child. Paediatrician will help to monitor growth and well being of children.
Psychologist
Psychologists consider the way a child thinks, learns and reacts to situations. This helps to identify the best way to support an individual child’s well-being, development and learning.
Speech and language therapist
Speech and language therapists assess a child’s ability to understand and communicate.
Physiotherapist
Physiotherapists work alongside children from birth to adolescence and their caregivers to optimise a child’s ability to move and function.
Occupational Therapist
Occupational therapists assess a child’s fine motor skills (how they use their hands), posture and positioning.
Rehabilitation Assistant
Rehabilitation assistant works alongside the therapists at the centre to co-ordinate various therapies to optimise and assist the child to achieve their goals and have input into many of the therapy groups.

Caterpillars
We are strong advocates of early intervention.
The early intervention services will enable the children (and parents) to receive relevant treatment, advice and support for their condition, at the earliest possible time to benefit them in later life.
Under the supervision of Mr Ershad, early intervention program is offered to children from 0- 3 years, who are at risk of neuro-developmental difficulties.
Who Do We See?
We are a team who investigate, diagnose and help children with Neuro development disorders such as Cerebral Palsy, Developmental delay, Learning difficulties, Autism spectrum disorder, Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and other behavioral disorders.
We also see children with a known medical or genetic condition who are likely to need some specialist help and support, like Downs syndrome, Williams syndrome etc
We also see children referred later when it becomes apparent that they are not making as much progress as expected in areas of their development and some new ideas are needed.
What families can expect?
We evaluate children through a combination of play based assessments and discussion with parents.
- You will initially be seen by Paediatric Neurologist, who will undertake medical evaluation and assess the difficulties. Investigations may be ordered.
- Based on the difficulties you will be advised to see one or more of the other team members.
- Subsequently collation of information about the child is made and parents will be informed of the problems or diagnosis.
- You may be offered advice in the form of a report.
- Those who work with the child have written information which is always given to the family.
- Parents are encouraged to be fully involved in the development of a management plan for their child.
- Parents are also expected to develop their own skills in using the appropriate strategies to support their child on a daily basis.
What Happens Next?
- In partnership with parents, the team will come up with an individual plan for each child.
- Depending on the assessed needs of the child, you will receive support to self manage the child’s needs with access to the centre for ongoing advice.
- A Home programme may be offered.
- If your child’s needs cannot be met by a home programme, one-to-one sessions with a therapist may be offered.
- A 12 week multidisciplinary programme may be offered for children who may have a disability or delayed development who require input from two or more professionals within the group to develop their individual goals.
- Follow up appointments with one or more members of the team may be offered to monitor the progress.
